Steven E Lee FCLS, Partner - started the Terrier Claims Services (TCS) New Jersey office (www.terrierclaims-nj.com) in March of 2001. Staffed with an all-star investigative team, TCS has quickly become the leading Investigation/Surveillance Firm in New Jersey. Steve has been investigating claims since 1990 and has managed over 40,000 investigations. Steve brings a wealth of investigative claim knowledge to Terrier. Steve is most known for his numerous Fraud ring and Medical Provider investigations that have saved large and small carriers alike over $300,000,000.
Steve graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelors in Administration of Justice. Served three years in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and was accepted to the FBI surveillance team.
David Perini, Partner - oversees both the Pleasantville, NY and Cape Coral, FL offices. Dave has built a skilled team of professionals to investigate multiple lines of insurance and coordinate trial preparation activities. Dave has refined his skills with over ten years of experience, personally conducting and supervising investigations for SIU departments of various insurance carriers.
Dave Perini’s previous employment as an investigator with the State of New Jersey Office of Consumer Protection and State of New Jersey Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor, highlight his depth as an investigator and his ability to integrate that knowledge to organize and supervise an elite investigative team that understands the needs of the TCS client.
In his first year of employment with TCS, Dave was recognized as employee of the year. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from PACE University where he was also a member of the varsity football team. Dave is a New York State Casualty Adjuster and a licensed private investigator.
Mike began working for Terrier Claims Services in March of 2002 and is the Managing Director of the Surveillance unit. His responsibilities include all supervision, quality control and training for all surveillance and undercover assignments. Mike has comprised a staff of multi-lingual, aggressive and results-oriented investigators who have an unprecedented rate of success in the performance of surveillance and insurance fraud investigations. In October 2009 Terrier Claims expanded and opened their 5th office, in Mineola, NY. Mike oversees the day to day operations of that office.
Mike began his career in the insurance industry in 1987, working for a regional insurance adjusting and investigation company. He began as a field investigator and was eventually promoted to Director of Operations, specializing in surveillance, GL investigations as well as Landlord/ Tenant cases. He also handled and oversaw investigations throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Texas, Florida and California.
Mike graduated from New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He is a licensed NY State Casualty Adjuster, License # 1A-988377. He has 2 daughters and lives in Lynbrook, NY.
Chris has been with Terrier Claims Services since 2002. He handles small and large loss property adjustments, low and high exposure property liability claims, and subrogation claim reviews. Chris became the Property Division Manager in 2007. Prior to joining Terrier, Chris worked in the construction field as a plumber, electrician, and general contractor for 5 years after receiving training through various seminars and courses in plan reading, estimating, construction site safety, crane & rigging, and project management. Chris has owned and operated a residential general contracting business in NYC before turning attention to the claims field. Chris is an AIC candidate.
John J. O'Shaughnessy has been working with Terrier Claims Services since 1997. In 1998 John was promoted to Supervising Investigator leading a staff of 18 full time investigators dedicated entirely to surveillance and sub rosa activities.
In July 2003, John became the Albany Office Managing Partner covering the entire Upstate New York area. John is a New York State licensed Casualty Adjuster, IA-983125 and has his Insurance Fraud Certification.
Prior to joining Terrier John worked for Cablevision in the Audit Department where he was primarily responsible for conducting field audits and investigating cable theft and fraud.
John graduated from Iona College with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and has received his Masters in Justice Administration from Western Connecticut State University.
John is married and has three children.
John Brumbaugh came to Terrier in 2004 and has since opened our Massachusetts office. He started in the Investigative field in 2000 working for a National Company. He worked his way up to a Field Supervisor and then to an Assistant Manager. He trained new investigators and supervised the Northeast Region. He became an in-house Assistant Manager and aided in preliminary investigation, scheduling, and supervising field investigators.
John graduated from Florida State University in 1999 with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. John will be assisting in the management of the Boston Office and supervising all field investigations. John served three years in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Ranger Battalion and graduated from Ranger School.
Scott began working for Terrier Claims Services in 2004 as an investigator and then left to become the senior legal investigator for a large SW Florida area law firm for 5 years. Prior to all of this, Scott worked for the New York City Police Department as a detective and upon his retirement had been promoted to the rank of 2nd grade Detective. While with the Police Department, his expertise was in the fields of fraud and impersonations. He attended classes within the police department on surveillance, counter-surveillance, frauds, auto-crimes and photography.
Scott returned to Terrier Claims Services in 2010 to manage our new office in Cape Coral, Florida.
Scott is a graduate of the U.S. Army ROTC basic training camp and attended Marion Military Institute in Alabama. He is married and has two children and three grandchildren.
